Grady Design and Development owner and craftsman, Bill Grady, announced that he has completed the new state requirements to obtain his Residential – Basic Contractor License in June 2009 from the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors. To obtain the new license, Bill met a set of qualifications that included experience, training, and extensive testing on building materials, properties and best practices as well as business and legal requirements for contractors. The license enables Mr. Grady to act as the Qualifying Agent for Grady Design & Development, LLC on any of its projects.

As of July 1, 2008, residential and general contractors in Georgia fall under the authority of the state's Professional Licensing Boards Division, a division of the Secretary of State, Karen Handel's office. The licensing board has laid out minimum professional standards of practice, as well as penalties for violators, including suspension and revocation of licenses. The new law also requires formal testing and licensing of contractors. Now Georgia builders must have the new contractor’s license to obtain a building permit or for any projects that exceed $2,500.

Bill Grady is from a long line of craftsman, sharing his love of building and remodeling with his father and three brothers. He enjoys helping homeowners improve their living spaces and increase their home value. He spent most of his professional career as a marketing executive, spending his spare time remodeling his own homes and the homes of friends and family. In 2003, Bill retired after thirty-one years with IBM and began remodeling full time, bringing significant business planning and his focus on customer service to Grady Design & Development. Bill has completed more than thirty bath and kitchen renovations, several porches and extensions as well as four full home renovations in the last three years.
